I love finding new ways to communicate my ideas to people, and while I was at IDS West in 2016, I had a chance to try on a VR headset and walk around inside a condo in virtual reality. I immediately saw the potential of the technology as a tool to communicate ideas and concepts.

Since then, I have been exploring methods of creating VR content and have been utilizing this technology to create architectural visualizations for clients and to prototype and test functional elements of my own designs.

VR Tradeshow Booth Demo

Soon after learning how to create basic scenes in VR, the company I was working for started looking for innovative ways to show off their products at the next tradeshow. I decided to model a copy of the tradeshow booth we were designing in VR to showcase the technology as well as to give them a quick visualization of the booth design.

I created a quick video showing the booth, and they asked me to bring in the technology so they could try it on.

Outsourced VR Project

This led to us outsourcing a VR project to a company in Vancouver as I didn't have the time to create a full photo-realistic scene for the tradeshow.

I created a brief for the job and guided the project to the final product; a 360-video that can run on YouTube and be viewed on any 360 or VR headset.

Current Projects

Recently I've been learning how to improve performance in scenes so that they can accommodate more complex 3D meshes. One of the greatest challenges with VR is optimizing it to run on available hardware.

A few weeks ago I finished an online course about optimizing meshes and textures and am currently working on a bathroom recreation using what I learned.
